There are three major parts of your pay per click marketing campaigns that you can constantly improve.

1. Create more focused lists of keywords.

2. Split test your ads for better conversions.

3. Your conversion rate including how your keywords are converting into sales and the effectiveness of your landing pages.

The Basics Of Landing Page Destinations

The landing page is the web page that you are directing your prospects to. The landing page could ask the viewer to do any number of things including buy a product, join a newsletter, download a free report, download trial software.

Your landing page and its look, feel and its content is absolutely critical in converting prospects to buyers. If your landing page doesn't hold the attention of your prospect and urge them to buy what you are promoting you have lost money twice - once with not making a sale and twice with paying for the cost of the visitor.

It's Critical For Adwords Success That You Make More Sales Than You Spend On Ads

In order to make more money with pay per click marketing you should always try and improve your landing pages.

What Is Your Conversion Rate?

Your conversion rate is the rate at which people buy what you are promoting. For example, if you get 100 visitors to your website and 1 person buys, your product conversion rate would be 1 percent. If you get 100 visitors to your website and 2 people buy, your product conversion rate would be 2 percent.

Two Approaches To Making Visitors Buy From Your Site

There are main two ways to do this. You can observe your competition and from marketing experts who have a successful track record in increasing their pay per click conversion rates. Secondly, you can test different configurations on your landing pages and monitor and track the conversion results.

Conversion tracking allows you to track the performance of all of your ad groups and also to analyse how different keywords react to the same landing pages.

How To Use Google's Ad Tracking Code

For Google's ad tracking code to work you need to do two things. You need to have your ad campaign live and accepted and you need to have a landing page that you can insert the code into.

There are a few things to bear in mind. This tracking method is absolutely free; you can track Google campaigns and non-Google campaigns - for more information visit https://adwords.google.com/select/crosschannel.html

To commence click on the "Start Tracking Conversions" button. For this example select purchase/sale and click "continue" and follow the instructions. Choose the language your site is in, choose the security level (usually http). You are then allowed to set a value of what your net profit per sale will be. If it's $39 put in the figure 39. Press refresh.

Click the text box containing the code, right click, and then copy and paste that code into a text file. Click continue.

How To Insert The Tracking Code Into Your Conversion Page

The page you add your tracking code to is the page that visitors are taken to after they have actually made a purchase from you. For this task we'll call it the thank you page.

Make a back up copy of your thank you page.

Open your thank you page in a text editor or in your html editor. Paste the Adwords conversion tracking code right above the
